Handling star-struck fans can be quite a task. And the makers of the Kangna Ranaut-starrer, Queen, whose shooting kicked off in Delhi a couple of days ago, will vouch for it.
“On the second day, we were shooting on the streets of Karol Bagh and Pitampura. A huge crowd gathered outside. And within minutes, the security seemed insufficient to control them,” says an insider from the unit.Although there’s no official word on it, it is estimated that around 6,000-7,000 people had gathered at both places to catch a glimpse of Kangna. And despite multiple requests from the makers, they refused to budge from the spot.
“We started shooting with the normal security cover (of about 10 people), but soon everyone realised that it was getting difficult for those men to control the crowds. So as a precautionary measure, we had to call in another 20-25 men,” informs the insider.
In the film, directed by Vikas Bahl, Kangna plays a simple girl from Delhi. It’s the story of a suburban Delhi girl who goes on her honeymoon alone after her marriage falls through. Shooting began two days ago in various parts of Delhi and will continue for a week.
Although Vikas remained unavailable for comment as he is shooting the film, the spokesperson confirms the news: “The crowd was uncontrollable till the extra security arrived. Thankfully, everything was under control then.”
