John Abraham is elated and naturally so. His new release – Fox Star Studios and Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd’s Force – has had his biggest solo opening in eight years. “I am relieved and happy. This genre is such that if it works it will fly, and it did. I am now clear that my audience wants to see me in the action hero avatar,” John, who now wants to take the genre more seriously says, adding, “I want to take action to another level and do raw action films. I want to be like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson (formerly known as The Rock in his professional wrestling avatar). It’ll get more dangerous and difficult, but I love it.”
Later this year, he will be seen in the comedy film Desi Boyz with Akshay Kumar, and his fans will be treated to two action films next year – Race 2 and Shootout At Wadala. “Now I want to put my head down and do my work,” he says. Vipul Shah, the producer of Force, is all praise for the actor. “Not only has John packed a punch with the action scenes, he has also put in a very strong performance.”
John adds, “The success of Force has taken lot of people by surprise. I will have faith in those who had faith in me. As far as the audience is concerned, I hold them responsible for my success,” says John.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says that John is a complete revelation in the film. “Robust in looks and smug with self-confidence, the young man matures into a full-fledged action hero with Force.” Adds Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios, “The response has been fantastic and the box office collections have been growing everyday.”
Elated and encouraged, John is now raring to carve a niche for himself in this newfound space. And with his line-up, his diary only spells action!
