Asked when she is likely to sign another film Kajol quips, “I can’t think of that until Yug is three years old.” Looking as radiant as ever, Kajol’s eyes light up the moment she is asked about her babies. Her and husband Ajay Devgn’s second child, Yug, is barely three months old now and is keeping her busy, along with the star-couple’s seven year old daughter Nysa. “My babies are wonderful. They are the most important priority in my life now,” she enthuses. So much so that while promoting Toonpur Ka Superrhero, her last film for now, she jests, “In fact, this is taking time off from my babies.”
About motherhood, she says, “It’s great spending time with my children… just watching them grow. I love being with them.” Interestingsly, even though Kajol hasn’t worked in too many films with Ajay, her supposed last one stars him. “Some scripts that I liked, he didn’t and vice versa. The ones that enthused him, didn’t intrigue me,” she explains. So how did the Devgn couple agree to Toonpur Ka Superrhero, considering a debutant director, Kireet Khurana, is helming it? “We both liked the script. But at the same time, we were intrigued with how Kireet would deliver, as it’s India’s first live animation film. He created a sequence to show us how it would be made and how it would finally look. We were very impressed with the result and thus agreed to do the film,” she elaborates. Another reason that made her take up this movie, Kajol says, is Khurana’s scripting, which has been done keeping today’s children in mind. “Kids have a lot of exposure to the outside world today, everything is available on the Internet at the click of a mouse,” she maintains, adding that the producer of Who Framed Roger Rabbit was shown some portions of Toonpur on his visit to Mumbai a while ago. “He admitted that he was impressed with the result. He didn’t expect something like this to be made in India,” she says proudly. On being asked who her favourite superhero as a child was, Kajol says, “Superman! No doubt about that. I’ve not only read every Superman comic as a kid, but also seen all the films till date.” So has the Devgn couple shown Toonpur to their daughter, Nysa yet? “She’s seen some parts. We’ll show it to her soon after the final print is out, sometime this weekend,” she smiles.
