Ever since its inception, the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster Krrish has faced an unprecedented roadblock in the form of the film’s female antagonist. Initially, Chitrangada Singh was brought on-board to star alongside Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the film.
However, the actress, who was not happy with her part in the film, opted out and so, Jacqueline Fernandez was offered the coveted role. But since Jacqueline was unwilling to lock lips with Hrithik in the film, she lost out on the role. Reportedly, the filmmakers, who are back to square one, have now approached Rockstar’s leading lady, Nargis Fakhri.
A source says Rakesh Roshan watched parts of Rockstar and was impressed with Nargis’ work. And so, the filmmaker met the actress to discuss becoming a part of the franchise.
The source explained, “Nargis really loved the script. The modalities are being worked out. It looks like Rakesh Roshan has finally found his heroine.”
According to the source, the producer seems to think that Nargis would be apt for the role. “This is a bold role. And Nargis does not have any qualms about wearing a bikini or being intimate with Hrithik on-screen. Her physicality suits the character perfectly. This is exactly what Fernandez was supposed to do,” added the source.
Considering that the film’s female antagonist has changed twice, the source revealed that the filmmakers have already chalked out a back-up plan, should Nargis decide against doing the film. The source said, “Shooting begins next month and so, if Nargis is not finalised for the role, Rakesh has decided to offer it to Bipasha Basu.” Despite repeated attempts, Rakesh Roshan remained unavailable for comment.
