Canadian Middle Class Richest In The World

Under the leadership of the Conservative Government, Canada now boasts the richest middle class in the world for the first time in history, rather than the United States.  A major study conducted by the New York Times shows that since 2000, Canada’s middle-class earnings have increased by 20 percent, while the same in the United States have remained stagnant.

The results of the study also indicate that families earning below-average incomes are better off in Canada than in the United States.

When asked about the middle class, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau said that “people who live off their incomes are the middle class, and those who live off their assets are not.” This definition would include those earning multi-million dollar salaries in the middle class while excluding seniors living off modest savings.

The Conservative Government, since taking office, has always made keeping taxes low a priority. That’s why under Conservative leadership, Canada’s tax burden is at its lowest in 50 years.

“It’s great to see that Canadians are thriving in an economy that can be uncertain, especially with the depths of the economic recession in recent memory.” stated Parm Gill, MP for Brampton-Springdale. “Our Government will continue to ensure that taxes are low for Canadians, so that they may continue to prosper in the global economy.”
