34 Truckloads Of Onions Arrive In India From Pakistan

Thirty four trucks loaded with onions on Thursday reached India as imports from Pakistan continued for the third successive day to check soaring prices in the country, officials said. A total of 98 truckloads of onions arrived in Amritsar through the Attari-Wagah border on Tuesday and Wednesday.

34 Truckloads Of Onions Arrive In India From PakistanWith c in some parts of the country earlier in the week, Indian traders are buying the vegetable from Pakistan at Rs 300-350 a quintal. “Today 34 trucks reached Amritsar. We have sent them to traders in Punjab and New Delhi. We are expecting 40-50 trucks tomorrow,” importer Rajdeep Uppal, vice-president of the Amritsar Exports and Imports Chamber said. Importers are looking to buy over 1,000 tonnes of onions from Pakistan.
