CIA planned to distribute action figure on Osama bin Laden to deter terrorism

Less than 10 years ago, the CIA was planning to make and distribute an action figure that looked like Osama bin Laden as an attempt to scare Pakistani kids and their parents away from terrorism, according to media reports.

The doll was made of a heat-dissolving material that made its paint peel off to reveal a red, demon-like face.

According to Buzzfeed, the CIA hired Donald Levine – the designer of G.I. Joe – to create the 12-inch bin Laden doll back in 2005.

While the CIA claims only three of these dolls were ever made, a source in China told the Washington Post that hundreds were produced and shipped to Karachi.
